I am a Professor of Human Resource Management at LSBU Business School. My research specialism is on employee voice, working conditions and quality of working life. I have extensive experience of teaching a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and executive courses in the areas of HRM, Organisational Behaviour and Qualitative Research Methods. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), an Academic Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and a Member of the British Sociological Association (BSA).

My academic interest is in developing theoretical and practical approaches to improving work relationships (employee voice/silence, employee participation/representation) and working life (quality of working life, working conditions). My work focuses on studying these topics in a variety of economic contexts (e.g. emerging, transition, crisis economies), organisational settings (e.g. SMEs, project-based organisations) and across different types of workers (e.g. traditional, temporary, eLancers, gig/platform).

I have published my work in several academic journals in the HRM field, as well as published books, textbooks and book chapters. My work has been presented in a variety of internationally reputed academic conferences and events, such as the Academy of Management (AoM) and the British Academy of Management (BAM). I am an Editorial Board Member of the journal 'Work, Employment and Society', an Editorial Advisory Board Member of the journal 'Employee Relations', a Special Issue Guest Editor of 'Human Resource Management Journal' and a Member of the British Academy of Management Peer Review College (PRC).
