I have been teaching at London South Bank University (LSBU) for over 10 years and am currently the Course Leader of the Foundation Year Courses in Applied Sciences alongside contributing to the teaching to these programmes.

The main teaching focus of my role, however, lies with the delivery of the three law modules on the BSc in Forensic Science.

I became a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2015 and more recently, in 2021, became a University Teaching Fellow.

I have a particular interest in teaching law to non-lawyers and especially, scientists as I completed a biology degree, prior to qualifying as a solicitor.

Before joining LSBU, I spent some years in private practice working as a solicitor in both contentious and non-contentious fields of law and I still return to criminal legal practice from time to time to ensure that my teaching remains relevant and "practice informed"

I was the Director of Recruitment for the School of Applied Sciences until 2020 and continue to be engaged in widening participation activities for LSBU. In the past, these have included collaborative STEM projects with schools in Southwark to raise the aspirations of those students who might not otherwise consider study at university.

My interest in employability and Graduate Outcomes led me to accept a part-time Teaching Fellowship Sabbatical in 2022.

This allowed me to introduce a peer assisted learning scheme into the forensic science classroom in the provision of writing workshops. Following the completion of this, I continue to explore new ways of helping my students maximise their attainment and their employability, in due course as graduates.
