As a British/Asian practitioner, I trained in theatre directing at Rose Bruford, then MA Body in Performance at Laban. I began lecturing at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martin’s, then joined London South Bank’s Drama department as a visiting lecturer in 2009. I became a senior lecturer in 2012. My practice centres on Dirty Market, a theatre company I co-founded in 2007.

My publications include:

- Two short articles for DIY Theatre (2010) and DIY Theatre 2 (2012), edited by R. Daniels

- Alchemical Adaptations, a chapter in Leonora Carrington: Living Legacy (2019) edited by A. Cox, J. Hewison & M. Man

- Diffractive Dramaturgy: A Performance Practice for Complicated Times in Performance Research Vol 25 Issue 5, (2020) edited by Annouchka Bayley.

My practice is centred on his work with Dirty Market Theatre:

We devise new work and do adaptations, usually to be performed in non-theatre spaces. Our process begins with sharing personal responses to source material - we work with a mix of performers with different backgrounds and the weaving together of different styles and responses into a cohesive whole is the principal focus of our process. Our last four productions have been supported by the Arts Council England, and we were also commissioned by Ovalhouse Theatre in 2012, and Theatre Delicatessen in 2017, to make pieces.
