I am an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering, and Head of Division for Mechanical Engineering and Design. I am also Course Director for BEng/MEng Advanced Vehicle Engineering.

I am the module leader for Design and Practice, a module taken by all first year BEng/MEng engineering students, as well as leading the second year module, Engineering Design.

For the School of Engineering, I am lead academic for Personal Tutoring, and the School's NSS activities.

Previously I lectured at Kingston University where my research focused on how design can assist people with disabilities (specifically, Vision Impairment, Dementia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder).

I am active in enterprise work through LSBU. My enterprise work focuses on working with LSBU's SimDH programme to support digital health solutions for SME's. Specifically the development of low cost resuscitation training aids.

My research has focused on how Design can assist people with a disability, focusing on the following areas:

+ Vision Impairment

+ Dementia

+ Autistic Spectrum Disorder

The research projects have been funded by:

+ Moorfields Eye Hospital Special Trustees

+ Thomas Pocklington Trust

+ Audi Design Foundation

+ Arts and Humanities Research Council

+ GA Architects

I have also presented in the UK on the topics of 'Design for Dementia', and on 'Contrast, Accessibility and Environments'.
