I am a Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Health and Social Care.

I became a Registered General Nurse in 1983 and joined the University as a Senior Lecturer in 1995, after working in clinical practice for 12 years. Prior to joining, the university I specialised in Critical Care Nursing, in several large Intensive Care settings throughout England.

Prior to joining London South Bank University I worked as a Lecturer Practitioner in Critical Care Nursing at a large London Hospital.

I am the chair of the Institute of Health and Social Care Ethics Committee.

I am a member of the Royal College of Nursing and have undertaken several roles over the last 30 years, including the chair of the Ethics Forum, a member of the Ethics Advisory Panel, a member of the London Regional Board, the London Region representative on the UK Learning Representatives Committee, where I was also the chair of the committee between 2011 - 2017. I am now a member of the RCN Trade Union Committee

I am a member of the Queen's Square HRA Research Ethics Committee and have been the vice chair of this committee since October 2021
