I joined London South Bank University (LSBU: then South Bank Polytechnic) in 1992 as a Lecturer in Operating Systems and Networking. I am currently Head of Division Computer Science and Informatics. I previously spent 4 years as Deputy Head of Division a role which gave me a lot of multi-disciplinary experience. My research and teaching specializes in areas including Big Data Management; Analytics & Visualization.

My academic experience also includes : Course Director PG/UG courses in the Division of Informatics. I maintain an active cross-Faculty role as a Chair and panellist in LSBU student appeals... also as a Divisional/School Academic Integrity Lead.

I continually develop and co-author courses (both long and short) for the Division of Computer Science and Informatics. I have extensive experience as a course director for several PG/UG courses, as well as previously managing the BCS Examinations at LSBU. My experience in course director's role has also led to many international travel opportunities working with international partners with recruitment & marketing responsibilities overseas, particularly in India & South East Asia, as well as in Africa, particularly in Nigeria & Ghana.

I am currently leading the restructuring of the Informatics department's postgraduate and undergraduate course provision. I have also undertaken the role of internal examiner/reviewer for the validation of other LSBU courses. I have over 10 years experience as an external examiner at other UK universities and HE/FE establishments.

I publish research/conference papers covering a range of analytics related topics and emerging/disruptive technologies. I have current supervisory experience at PhD, postgraduate and undergraduate levels.

I was previously a member of organising committees for several of international conferences held in the UK & overseas.
