I am a (part-time) Senior Lecturer in Tourism Marketing in the School of Business (Management, Marketing and People division). My areas of expertise are in marketing strategy, communications and public relations, destination development and marketing, branding, sustainability, accessibility and tourism policy.
I joined the tourism and hospitality teaching team in 2008, following a career managing marketing and communications for British Airways, Cunard Line, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the English Tourist Board.
I started my career in journalism and am a previous Travel and Tourism editor of the Economist Intelligence Unit and past editor of the Tourism Management Journal.
My time at the university is devoted to teaching and supervision (I do not undertake university-based research projects).
Outside of LSBU I provide consultancy services on accessible tourism to destination management organisations and tourist boards and am a Trustee of Tourism for All, the charity that works to improve accessibility in the tourism industry and to support disabled travellers.
