I joined LSBU in 2017 as a post-doctoral Research Fellow and in 2020 I was promoted to a Senior Lecturer at the School of Applied Sciences (Sport and Exercise Science Research Centre) and teaching in Biomechanics / Strength & Conditioning modules.

I obtained my BSc in Health Sciences (2009) and MA in Sport (2011) from the University of Tartu (Estonia) and completed my PhD in Exercise Science at the German Sport University Cologne (Germany) in 2017. Prior joining LSBU, I worked there as a Research Associate at the Institute of Biomechanics and Orthopaedics and at the Institute of Sport and Movement Gerontology.

My main research areas are the plasticity of the human musculoskeletal system in response to mechanical loading (exercise), as well as the interaction between neural and motor system during human locomotion and sports performance.

Apart of my academic career, I am an accredited athletics coach (Senior Coach Lvl 6; World Athletics Lvl 3 Jumps Coach) and a S&C coach (UKSCA accredited). I actively perform biomechanical diagnostics and coach athletes at elite performance level representing different countries (Estonia, Puerto Rico, Germany) at various major international competitions (i.e. Olympic Games, World Championships) as a team coach or team leader. I am regularly contributing to athletics coaches' education in different conferences and workshops (World Athletics and national federations). In the years 2012 and 2013 I was selected as the Estonian athletics coach of the year.
