I am a physical modeler in the fields of Coastal and Ocean Engineering, sediment transport and fluid mechanics, with particular focus on Tsunami and coastal natural hazards.

I have a BSc Environmental Science (2006) and PhD Geography (2011, Scour at offshore Wind Turbines) from Lancaster University.

I spent 2012-2014 as PDRF at the National University of Singapore researching the kinematics of sea ice in waves & impact dynamics with offshore structures.

Between 2014-2017 I was PDRF at UCL, where I researched physical modelling of tsunami wave propagation and inundation of the built environment.

This research theme continues at LSBU since 2017.

Along with my active research in tsunami and storm surge inundation of the coastal built environment, I am also a member of the Earthquake Engineering Field Investigation Team (EEFIT).

My most recent past projects include (as PI) AKT-269 Tsunami Experimental Study, funded by Innovate UK and the MAKEWAVES project looking at tsunami inundation, runup and scour of structures in collaboration with UCL, HR Wallingford and a number in national and international partners.

My current projects include a KTP with HR Wallingford developing a tsunami wave train generator 2024 - 2026.

I have space for new PhD students to join this research group, and encourage prospective candidates to get in touch.
