I am the Associate Professor for Advanced Clinical Practice (Mental Health) in the department of Advanced Clinical Practice and Non Medical Prescribing; Institute of Health and Social Care.
A nurse by profession, my special areas of interest and expertise are in: mental health in adult and child physical health services, advanced clinical practice in mental health, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), direct therapeutic assessment and intervention, forensic psychiatry, liaison psychiatry; substance misuse, emerging personality disorder, deliberate self-harm, physical health care in mental health, prevention, service user involvement/people participation, multi- agency/partnership working, leadership, service innovation and practice-based evidence.
I worked for 35 years in the NHS across physical and mental health care services in clinical, therapeutic, senior operational, clinical academic and corporate/strategic leadership roles before coming to LSBU in 2017.
