I am a Counselling Psychologist, practicing psychotherapist, clinical supervisor as well as a Lecturer here at LSBU. I combine experience across clinical practice and education. Before beginning my academic career I practiced as a counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor across a number of settings including community mental health, child and adolescent teams, addictions treatment and generalized private practice.

I am interested in the exploration of psychotherapy as a practice particularly in those approaches that aim to combine ideas drawn from traditional psychodynamic models and more modern cognitive and behavioural interventions.

The focus of my work before joining LSBU was the practical application of psychological counselling theory through my work with clients.

As my academic and research career develops my areas of research interest remain therapy focused. I am interested in the quality of the relationship within the therapy room and the factors that may impact that, be it gender, race, class or the exchange of money.

I am also interested in exploring the relative impact of psychological interventions across the mental health spectrum.
