I am a Senior Lecturer in the Community Nursing team, within the Institute of Health and Social Care. I am an Adult Nurse by background and a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner. I joined LSBU in 2019, having previously worked at Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield GP Collaborative, a part of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I currently teach across the District Nursing and the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Programmes within LSBU.

I am passionate about advanced practice and understanding how working at an advanced level, irrespective of your professional background can benefit health services, particularly in the community setting. In training health professionals to work at an advanced level, it is vital to ensure that appropriate support and training are provided, and as a result, I led a project for Health Education England's South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Faculty of Advanced Clinical Practice and devised the Advanced Clinical Practitioner Primary and Community Care Competency Framework.

My previous areas of research have focused on prescribing decision-making, particularly for nurses working in the community. Since teaching the District Nursing students, I am keen to explore their experience of undertaking an assessments skills module, and how this has impacted their clinical practice once qualified. My future research will focus on this area, with a view to understanding how health professionals working at an advanced level in the community setting can develop and improve service provision and ultimately patient care.
