I joined LSBU's School of the Built Environment and Architecture in 2021 as a Lecturer in Civil Engineering having previously worked at the University of Greenwich. I was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2023. I teach Engineering Surveying and Structures & Construction Technology A.
I am passionate about sustainable materials for road pavements and sustainable drainage systems because of my previous industry and research experience that are in these areas. My research focuses on recycling waste materials to make new materials for road pavement systems and application of sustainable drainage systems for managing quantity and quality of runoff.
Recent projects include the Institution of Structural Engineers funded project on “Improving the Durability and Sustainability of Reinforced Concrete using Carbonated aggregates and BFRP reinforcement” and a consultancy for Roadfill Limited.
I am a Chartered Civil Engineer recognised by the Engineering Council and a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, United Kingdom.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Worked as a Research Associate on a Knowledge Exchange and Embed Partnership (KEEP+) between the University of Greenwich and Roadfill Ltd. to develop a new road surfacing product from synthesis of asphalt concrete and recycled plastics.
Taught and assessed the following Civil and Environmental Engineering modules: CIVI 1125 – Civil Engineering Hydraulics (class: 55 Year-2 BEng & MEng students), CIVI 1131 – Water Engineering (class: 11 Year-3 BEng students), CIVI 1135 – Hydrosystems Engineering & Management and GEEN 1148 – Water & Wastewater Engineering (class: 11 MSc students).
Co-supervised two final year projects with Dr. Cecilia MacLeod, marked Civil Engineering examinations and coursework and graded final year projects (as First Assessor of four projects and Second Assessor of one project), and
Taught and demonstrated Civil Engineering laboratory experiments to undergraduate and postgraduate students and to potential students and their parents on Open Day events.
