I am a registered Mental Health Practitioner and Addictions Counsellor. I joined LSBU in 2021, where I am a Mental Health Lecturer in the School of Health and Social Care.

I studied Mental Health Nursing at LSBU and later I completed my MSc in Addictions Psychology and Counselling also at LSBU. Currently, I am in the 2nd year of a Ph.D. at the University of Huddersfield. I am passionate about students' Mental Health and Wellbeing

After 6years of working in the NHS mostly South London and Maudslay NHS Trust in all settings, I worked as a Mental Health Advisor for Students at Goldsmiths University for 3.5 years. Working with University students gave me a good understanding of the Mental Health needs of students at university.

My main research interests are Faith and Students' Mental Health and Wellbeing. My PhD research is exploring the role of faith in the Wellbeing and Mental Health of Black students at University in the UK.

I continue to support and signpost students in my role as a personal tutor. To continue supporting students I started a blog www.Blackstudentsmentalhealth.org. The aim of the blog is to offer MH support to students: Self-help tips, leaflets, Free Mental Health Services, Blogs, Helplines, Psychoeducation, Advice, and Signposting. The blog benefits all students, especially those who are reluctant to seek support or engage with it. Here they can discreetly seek support. This blog has now been added to the students’ services resources at the University of Huddersfield

I have also written for Student Minds
