I am a Lecturer in the Children's Nursing department. I joined LSBU in 2021 having worked predominantly in the Oncology and Orthopaedic fields in the NHS since qualifying. My previous role was as a Lead Paediatric and Adolescent Sarcoma Clinical Nurse Specialist, in charge of a small team. (Sarcomas are musculoskeletal cancers and are treated in a handful of specialist centres across the UK).

I now teach CPD Paediatric oncology modules as well as the BSc undergraduate skills module in year 2.

I am passionate about oncology in the world of child and adolescent nursing and also identifying and implementing adequate support for staff working in this challenging field. Research in children's oncology is often overlooked but is vital to ensure the best care is delivered for our patients. Survival rates for childhood cancers has increased over the years due to research that has been carried out to improve treatments. This also means that we have more patients who will be suffering from the late effects of Systemic Anti-cancer Therapy (SACT).
