I joined LSBU in 2022 where I am a Lecturer in Midwifery in the Institute of Health & Social Care. I am a Registered Midwife and prior to joining LSBU was in practice on the South Coast of England.

I completed my own studies in 2014 at the University of Brighton where I achieved a First Class BSc(Hons) in Midwifery. Prior to my midwifery studies, I worked in law and central Government.

My main interests are how midwives practice is impacted by the litigious nature of contemporary life, midwives in the menopause and the impact this can have on them in terms of reflecting on their own childbearing and ensuring women/clients are able to make fully informed decisions about their care.

As part of my BSc(Hons) Midwifery I undertook a research project into the Lactational Amenorrhea Method of contraception which addressed some of the barriers to informed decision-making.

I will be undertaking the Academic Apprenticeship Programme with LSBU in 2022/23.
