I started my nursing career in Italy with a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing. I then moved to the United Kingdom where I started working as an intensive care nurse, deputy sister, and advanced critical care practitioner in the cardiac and thoracic critical care unit of the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. I have also collaborated with Oxford Brookes University as an associate specialist lecturer and the British Association of Critical Care Nurses, where I presented my MSc dissertation findings.
I was involved with intensive care clinical audits during my clinical practice. In particular, audit related to safety standards for invasive procedures.
My MSc dissertation involved a qualitative study with the adaptation of a validated survey, circulated to the British Association of Critical Care Nurses. The topic investigated was the confidence of critical care nurses in discussing the possibility of withdrawal of treatment in intensive care patients that sustained end-point resuscitation maneuvers. The findings were then discussed at the British Association of Critical Care Nurses Conference in 2020.
