I am lecturer in innovation and enterprise at LSBU Business School. I joined LSBU in 2023 having previously worked at the University of Victoria (UVic) in Canada as a postdoctoral research fellow before studying at the State University of Maringa in Brazil. I teach Responsible Business at LSBU.

I am passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation, and migration in small businesses in different areas because I believe that research in these areas can promote effective changes for an environment pro-innovation.

In 2021, I have received the Best Emerging Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Learning & Education.

My research agenda looks at how multiple actors, such as entrepreneurs, corporations, and the state can build an environment of pro-innovation through institutions that incentivize creative and entrepreneurial thinking, opportunities, and new venture creation. I am particularly interested in the symbolic, cultural, and historical aspects related to the actors and organizational practices which can enable and disable new ventures, innovation, and different business models.

In 2022, I had a book chapter in co-authorship Coraiola, D. M., Tsujiguchi, F., Suddaby, R. (2022). Historical Cognition and Strategic Entrepreneurship in the Handbook of Strategic Entrepreneurship. Edward Elgar.

My research projects focus on three main themes: immigration and entrepreneurship in the creation and development of new ventures, the role of artificial intelligence and language in the production and diffusion of technological innovation, and the relationship between entrepreneurship and poverty in the discovery of opportunities and

entrepreneurial identity.

I have practical experience in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. I worked for 12 years managing incubators of technology-based companies and interacting with entrepreneurs, universities, public organizations, and corporations in Brazil. I use my practical experience to enrich my teaching for undergraduate and MBAs by promoting a more inclusive and practical learning environment during the classes.

My teaching interests are mainly in Entrepreneurship, Venture Creation, and Leadership. I have considerable experience teaching entrepreneurship to undergraduate and graduate students. I taught Entrepreneurship I and II and Administration and Marketing at the undergraduate level and Entrepreneurial Management and Innovation at the MBA level at the University of Oeste Paulista in São Paulo state, Brazil. I also have experience in online teaching Marketing, Digital Media, and Interpersonal relationships in graduate degrees. Before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and more recently, I had the opportunity to teach a couple of classes at Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria for international students.
