I am a senior lecturer in the LSBU School of Business specialising in accounting, governance and finance courses. I joined LSBU in 2012 after having worked in various industries as a Senior Accountant/ Governance & Compliance Leader for almost 20 years. I was appointed the Course Director for BA Business Management with Accounting|Finance in 2020; in 2022 Course Director for BA Accounting & Finance. My background has enabled the sharing of professional experience in the classroom supported by researched theoretical knowledge.
I am passionate about all the accounting modules I teach because they are fundamental to the development of future professionals.
My post graduate research focused on gender diversity and it's impact on the performance of FTSE 250 companies. In future, I would like to develop this research in a different environment, especially where female professionals are less active in the economy.
Outside my role as a lecturer, I am a member of the Barking and Dagenham College Board, a further education (FE) college based in East London. On this board, I chair the Audit Committee, which allows me to apply acquired knowledge in reality while developing further HE learning.
I am a fellow of the Association of both Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), member bodies of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
I was recently nominated and shortlisted as the Lecturer of the year (2021/22).

•Managing £100m monthly cash flow to support budgetary needs and treasury objectives;
•Responsible for the management, direction and leadership of the high-performance team of five in charge of payables, receivables, intercompany accounting and office administration;
•Defined and implemented delegation of authority framework for 150 personnel, to improve internal control effectiveness and risk management in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX);
•Spearheaded the process of over 200 written procedures for each accounting responsibility to ensure consistency and continuity of roles;
•Decreased subsequent internal audit findings by 50% and closed out 100% findings within 3 months. Key contact for both internal and external audits thereby, minimising disruption to daily responsibilities and coordinating timely implementation of recommendations;
•Bridging the gap between various departments using technical and financial knowledge to work closely and effectively with purchasing, manufacturing, sales, human resources, IT and payroll etc.;
•Cascaded updates on internal control procedures and financial regulations, such as IFRS, bribery act 2010, to relevant stakeholders;
•Performed in-house compliance audit on site and intercompany counterparts on approved internal processes and procedures;
•Providing advice and recommendations on investment in people, propositions, tools, systems, policies and process as appropriate;
•Developing innovative teaching materials and facilitating ACCA accredited lectures, seminars in auditing, fundamentals of accounting, personal finance, risk management, governance and employability to under-graduate and post-graduate students aiming to be Accountants;
•Setting and marking real-life case study coursework and examinations; consistently achieving 80% to 100% pass rate;
•Actively engaging and challenging accounting students to realise their full potential and develop their accounting skills
•Consolidation of fiduciary business system data for various business units at month ends, to satisfy client money and statutory reporting requirements;
•Calculation of weekly revenue draw down for all business units and advising treasury of final amounts to be drawn;
•Monthly calculation and submission of Client Money surplus/deficits in accordance to FSA requirements;
•Reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts (Peoplesoft) to technical ledger accounts (i.e. ATLAS);
•Provide support for audit report follow up against all team activities;
•Develop and maintain team procedures and cross team cover processes including Treasury system procedure manual in adherence to Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
