I am a senior lecturer in Psychology and Deputy Head of the Division of Psychology. I am also a member of the Centre for Addictive Behaviours Research. I joined LSBU in 2005 having previously studied for my D.Phil in Experimental Psychology at the University of Sussex. My teaching includes first year lectures in biological and applied psychology and teaching psychopharmacology to final year undergraduate and MSc students.
My research all falls within psychopharmacology, or the study of how drugs affect both brain function and behaviour. I am currently involved in projects exploring the off-prescription use of cognitive enhancing drugs, the effects of nicotine on the rewarding value of other, non-drug related stimuli and the relative dependency on nicotine amongst users of electronic cigarettes (vapers) and cigarette smokers.
