I am a Senior Lecturer in Construction Project Management, Division of Construction, Property and Surveying, School of Built Environment and Architecture. I joined LSBU in January 2020 having previously gathered experience in the construction industry, teaching and researching in the higher education sector spanning well over 20 years, both internationally and in the UK. I completed both B.Eng. and MSc degrees in Civil Engineering in Nigeria followed by a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Portsmouth.
I lead and teach Construction Technology and Materials, Construction Management Project and Msc Construction, delivering research-based lectures to interactively engage students.
I supervise students projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
I am a member of IDoBE (Integrated Delivery of the Built Environment) research centre. My research interests include construction materials, steel fibre reinforced concrete with emphasis on effects of distribution and orientation of fibres on the performance of fibre reinforced concrete and the application of image analysis tools to analyse the positioning of fibres within the composite material, and the use of recycled aggregate in concrete. My recent research projects include the use of local building materials in construction such as adobe bricks enhanced with agricultural fibres and by-products for affordable construction materials in housing and sustainability in the construction industry, particularly in developing countries.
