I am a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business, London South Bank University. Prior to re-joining academia, I worked at Deutsche Bank in London on trading in financial markets. I am involved in implementing research findings into a practical policy regulations.

I am passionate about economic and international business policy and known for translating complicated political-economy issues into plain language, so my analyses have drawn the interest of many outside academia, including national and international media. I have been invited to present evidence on the UK trade policy at the House of Lords.

My research is at the intersection of economic policy and international business, focusing on structural economic issues. I investigate theoretical and empirical tensions around the relationship between public policies on foreign direct investments, international trade, labour market and sustainable economic development.

My research has been published by the United Nations Journal of Transnational Corporations, informing policymakers on how to steer trade and investment policies so that they produce growth that is more inclusive and sustainable. My recent studies addressed wage changes for employers in multinational and domestic corporations. I have published extensively in the field of foreign direct investment, including my recent study on foreign direct investment quality and human capital development.

I have been nominated for the UNCTAD-AIB award for the best policy paper. During the annual Academy of International Business meeting in 2024 in Seoul, I met with the South Korean minister for trade and presented the research we do at the School of Business, London South Bank University. Additionally, we discussed how South Korean state-owned enterprises maintain efficiency, in light of my new paper on best practices in running state-owned enterprises.

Through my research, I attracted the attention of the media and policymakers. Since 2021 I have appeared as a guest speaker at various regional conferences on international trade and investment policies.
