I joined LSBU Business School in 2023 from Birmingham City University, where I have acted as Deputy Head of Department, Research Director and REF2021 Lead. Prior to that, I spent three years as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Warwick and held visiting positions at City University, London, where I completed my PhD on the association between memory and judgment processes. I graduated in psychology at the University of Bologna (Italy).

My research interests revolve around human judgment and decision-making and I run multiple projects that focus on the interface between behavioural sciences and social cognition. In particular, I am interested in the interplay between cognitive functions (e.g., memory) and human decisions, how context impacts on evaluations and preferences (e.g., risk), culture and motivational values, social norms and behavioural economics.

My work, which I presented at many national and international conferences, has been published in world-leading journals and it is supported by a wide collaboration network. I am a Review Editor at Frontiers in Psychology and I regularly act as a peer-reviewer for several world-leading journals. I am Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and I am a member of international societies such as the Association for Psychological Science, the Society for Judgment and Decision-Making and the Cognitive Science Society. I am a SEDA-accredited supervisor and am happy to take on candidate PhD students interested in the above areas.
