I am a senior lecturer in the school of engineering. I teach Advanced Engineering Mathematics for level 5 (all Engineering courses) and Thermofluids and energy systems for level 7 (MEng and MSc). I have BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering, and in 2006 I was awarded a PhD from Brunel University. I joined LSBU in 2017, having previously worked at several educational institutes, including Ulster University and Brunel University. I had worked for two years abroad, which gave me the skills to deal with students from different educational backgrounds. Also, I am a course director for the MSc Mechanical Engineering.

My research interests are energy-saving and related GHG emissions in heating and cooling systems, thermal technologies and optimizing refrigeration systems by identifying areas in its components that have room for modifications. Also, develop Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD models of refrigerated display cabinets and food packaging systems for better food quality and less energy consumption. Research in Teaching is another area that interests me. I have worked on some projects involving Technology Integrating Learning, and the output of these projects helped our students with their learning and supported them to succeed in their studies.

During my work as a researcher and lecturer, I was involved in many projects, including the design of standalone chilled food display cabinets, Tri-generation in the Food industry, CO2 emission of retailing food products, Integration of CO2 refrigeration and tri-generation systems for supermarket applications and Energy savings through liquid pressure amplification in refrigeration systems. Moreover, I did consultancy work with an industrial partner regarding the design of refrigerated display cabinets.

I am currently involved in several projects, including developing Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD models to investigate the effect of integrating a Phase Change Material PCM within a food packaging system to enhance the quality of a food product and minimize the relevant energy consumption. In addition, One of the main factors affecting the reliability of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations for the urban environment is the Horizontal Homogeneity of the Atmospheric Boundary Layer (HHABL) profile, so I am working on investigating the preservation of the HHABL profile using three different commercial CFD codes—the ANSYS Fluent, the ANSYS CFD, and the Siemens STAR-CCM+ software
