I qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner in 2001. Since qualification I have spent 15 years in clinical practice gaining experience in all aspects of operating department care. My roles have also included practice education and practice development responsibilities. In April 2016 I joined the Allied Health Sciences Division at LSBU as a lecturer on the BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice programme.
My research interests include:
The role of simulation in achieving learning outcomes.
Student experience of practice placements and methods to enhance perioperative learning environments.
Development of education materials and resources to support perioperative courses.
