I am a Senior Lecturer in Energy and Building Services in School of the Built Environment and Architecture at LSBU. I am also the Course Director of postgraduate Building Services Engineering and lead 4 thermal engineering related core modules across MSc and BEng Building Services Engineering. I am currently supervising PhD students and a reviewer for CIBSE journal. My interest lies modelling, simulation and design of thermal energy systems using computational tools particularly focusing low carbon energy systems.

Prior to the role of Lecturer, I worked as a Research fellow in ‘Home Energy for Tomorrow - HE4T’ project in School of the Built Environment and Architecture, LSBU. https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/stories/he4t-project

This project was in research partnership with ICAX Ltd, Thames Water and Anglian Water. The work has produced multiple conference papers and further two journal papers are in preparation. The work is also recently been quoted by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) in their online CIBSE Journal.https://www.cibsejournal.com/general/londons-hidden-energy-source-recovering-heat-from-sewage/

Before joining academics, I have worked many years on government and multinational cross-disciplinary research projects and have experience of working across different domains of energy; from nuclear to oil & gas and moving on to renewable. I have working experience of many years in Pakistan Atomic Energy commission and was the part of the KANUPP Final Safety Analysis Project awarded IAEA Award for Technical Excellence. I have also worked in NED University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan. My research work has been disseminated through technical reports, journal papers and conference proceedings.

Earlier I did my PhD in Process Systems Engineering from the Cranfield University, England. The research was sponsored by Cranfield University and BP Exploration and involved numerical modelling and experimentation on the largest test facility for multiphase flows in the HE sector in UK. The research produced is extensively been used globally to validate hydrodynamic models of large diameter vertical pipe flows. https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/139579.pdf

Earlier to this, I did my masters in Energy Systems & Thermal Processes also from the Cranfield University. I have BEng (hon) Mechanical engineering with specialization in Nuclear Power Engineering from NED University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan. During my academics years, I have won many fully funded scholarships from prestigious Pakistan Atomic Energy fellowship to Malaysian Commonwealth scholarship. I am also the winner of University of Strathclyde Pakistan 50th Anniversary Scholarship and Anne Marie Schimmel Scholarship.
