I joined the Division of Construction, Property and Surveying as a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying in October 2023.
I hold a PhD in Real Estate and Construction from the University of Hong Kong (HKU), as well as BSc in Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics (First Class Honours) and MPhil degree in Project Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
My research focuses on construction quality assurance, digital construction, and providing sustainable buildings for a better-built environment. My research specifically covers applying digital technologies such as BIM, digital twins, artificial intelligence and other smart building technologies to advance sustainable construction processes, construction circularity and modern methods of construction (modular buildings). I am also involved in research that enhances the construction project management areas, such as construction quality assurance.
I have collaborated with scholars and industry practitioners on various multidisciplinary research work across different countries. These include human-robot collaboration in construction, circular procurement in construction, health and safety in construction, offsite manufacturing, construction cost management, construction partnership management, and quantity surveying.
Below are previous grant I have participated:
1. Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) - Generative DfX in High-rise modular building: An expert-augmented cascade graph learning and optimisation approach, HKD 5,310,000. (Recently successful).
2.Theme-based Research Fund- Enhancing Digitalization for Innovation and Social Development, RMB 5 million.
OTHER research areas I'm interested in are:
1. Low carbon building and processes
2. Digital twin for carbon emissions in construction
3. Modern methods of construction (Modular construction)
4. Construction technology adoption
5. Circular economy in construction
6. Project management (Construction)
7. Digital construction supply chain
8. Digitalisation in construction quality assurance
9. Smart building and smart city
Prospective PhD students interested in my area of research are highly welcome.
