I am an Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy in the School of Allied Health and Community Care, since 2002. I completed an MSc in Clinical Neurosciences (distinction), 2008, my dissertation applied the Theory of Planned Behaviour on the topic of occupational therapists and carrying out occupation focused intervention. I completed my PhD Dec 2023, on service improvement applying case study methodology. I teach and work with colleagues collaboratively across the Institute of Health and Social Care. I continue to contribute to the academic community through webinars, conference presentations, and publications.
I offer 2 Bespoke workshops on decolonising the curriculum/organisation and antiracist organisation.
I am 1of 2 original cofounders of BAMEOTUK, a pressure group of BME heritages occupational therapy students, staff, and educators, campaigning for antiracist change in the discipline.
My interests are in antiracism, equity, and decolonising curricula, HEI and wider organisation transformation. I have developed an evidence-informed decolonising the curricula checklist wheel - a reflection tool, that has been adopted into the academic curriculum framework of the university. I have presented the wheel at several conferences. I am assisting internationally recruited occupational therapists through out of hours mentorship sessions.
